The planned face-to-face meeting of the World Economic Forum at the Swiss mountain resort of Davos has been postponed due to an increase in the number of infections with a new variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus called Omicron.
This was announced by the organizers of the event, reports Radio Svoboda.
“The annual meeting was scheduled to take place in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from 17 to 21 January 2022. It is now scheduled for early summer,” the organizers said in a statement released on December 20.
Instead, participants will join a series of sessions called “State of the World” that will bring world leaders online to discuss the world’s largest challenges.
