A new wave of COVID-19 due to the spread of the Omicron strain in Ukraine is invariably expected in February.
As a UNIAN correspondent reports, NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov said this at a briefing after today’s meeting of the Security Council.
“As for Omicron: we have not changed our forecasts yet. We expect that the wave will reach us in February. All this will depend on the number of those persons who will be outside our country today, on these holidays. It is from there (from abroad – UNIAN) that they can bring it to us, “Danilov said.
He clarified that 80% of people who were found to be infected with the Omicron strain were abroad.
