Parliament has registered today bill “On the status of the people’s deputy – the founder of the state independence of Ukraine” (registration number 6493).

What does the bill provide?
According to Stefanchuk, the bill stipulates that “the people’s deputies, who were at the forefront of the formation of state independence, will receive a special status. This practice is widespread in many countries of the world. Somewhere they are called” founding fathers “, somewhere” signers. ” And in Ukraine, I propose to assign such People’s Deputies a special status of “Founder of the State Independence of Ukraine”.

The issue of granting the status of the Founder to a person and the deprivation of such status is decided by the Commission for the consideration of issues on the assignment of the status of the founder of the state independence of Ukraine, which is created in accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
Founder status is retained for a person for life, and he can be awarded posthumously.
According to the bill, the founder is issued a certificate and a badge, which is a state award, the form and model of which is approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The People’s Deputy who received this status has the right to: attend open meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and its bodies; visit government bodies, local governments, enterprises, institutions, organizations, regardless of the form of ownership; in case of identification of potential threats to national security or state sovereignty of Ukraine, send appeals to state authorities, local authorities and their officials, to institutions and organizations whose powers include solving the issues raised on the merits.
He will also have the right to be received by the President of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General, heads of other state bodies, local authorities, associations of citizens, enterprises, institutions, organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, their officials and officials within and in the way that are determined by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine.
The bill stipulates that the Founder can be assigned a lifetime financial allowance. The procedure for assigning a lifetime monetary allowance to the Founders and its size are established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
In the event of the death of the Founder, the Verkhovna Rada, local executive authorities and / or local government bodies provide the necessary assistance in his burial.
