More than 288 million cases of coronavirus infection have been reported worldwide since the start of the pandemic.
In Europe, since the start of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the number of infections has exceeded 100 million.

It is noted that in 52 countries and regions from the Atlantic coast to Azerbaijan and Russia, as of Saturday evening, January 1, 100 million 074 thousand 753 cases of coronavirus infection were registered, as reported by the AFP agency based on information from the authorities.
This represents more than a third of the 288 million 279 thousand 803 COVID-19 cases reported worldwide since the pandemic began in late 2019. In the last seven days alone, more than 4.9 million cases of infection have been detected in the European region – 59% more than in the previous week.

At the end of December 2021, the head of the Center for Health Economics at the Kiev School of Economics, Yuriy Ganichenko, said that the incidence of COVID-19 in Europe and the world is growing, while in Ukraine it is showing a rapid decline.
