In Odessa, sellers poured diesel fuel on thousands of conifers that they could not sell until the New Year.
The journalists were informed about this in the Suvorov regional administration of the Odessa city council.
It is noted that utilities have removed more than 2.5 thousand abandoned Christmas trees and pines from Bocharov, Vysotsky, Zabolotny, Marselskaya and Semyon Paliy streets.

“All the trees were taken to the landfill, because they cannot be used for animal feed. Before throwing the trees, the sellers poured diesel fuel on them. It is difficult to explain such actions, but, obviously, they were guided by the goal that no one would get the trees,” the regional administration said.
Garbage trucks, tractors and trucks were used to harvest the trees.
It is not yet known whether abandoned trees and pines in other districts of Odessa were doused with a combustible substance.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in Odessa, entrepreneurs left more than 5 thousand coniferous trees on the streets, which people did not buy up until the New Year. It was assumed that the discarded Christmas trees and pines will be used for animal feed and fertilization.
