On January 4, 1943, the American magazine “Time” published its rating “Person of the Year”. It was headed by Joseph Stalin. The weekly has published this ranking since 1927. The magazine chooses a person depending on the influence that she had on society, and without taking into account whether this influence is positive or negative. The first man of the year on the cover of the magazine in 1927 was the famous American pilot Charles Lindbergh. He received this honor for crossing the Atlantic Ocean alone. Lindbergh was followed by car tycoon Walter Chrysler and General Electric board chairman Owen Young.
