As stated in the message of the ministry Facebook, in Ukraine, men and women can marry at the age of 18. And from the age of 16, this can happen by a court decision, if it is established that this is in the interests of the person who wants to marry.

The Ministry of Justice reminds that, according to Article 26 of the Family Code, cannot be married to each other:
- persons who are relatives of the direct line of kinship;
- relatives (full-blooded, incomplete) brother and sister;
- the adoptive parent and the child he adopted (a marriage between them can be registered only in case of cancellation of the adoption).
Full-fledged siblings are brothers and sisters who have common parents. Brothers and sisters who have a common mother or common father are incomplete; cousins, aunt, uncle and nephew, niece. Also, by a court decision, the right to marriage may be granted between the adoptive parent’s own child and the child he adopted, as well as between children who were adopted by him.
