The government approved a presidential decree proposing the confiscation of 903 objects belonging specifically to the Russian state.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a list of Russian property and assets on the territory of Ukraine that will be confiscated in favor of the state.
About this during a government meeting declared Prime Minister Denys Shmigal, according to whom, we are talking about hundreds of buildings, corporate rights, land and financial assets.
“All this is divided into three categories. The first category is property that belongs to the Russian state. The second category is property that belongs to sanctioned citizens and companies from Russia. The third category is the assets of Russian banks. The government will approve a presidential decree proposing the confiscation of 903 objects belonging specifically to the Russian state, 79 positions are corporate rights, 824 positions are property.As promised, we are taking away all these Russian assets in favor of the Ukrainian people, we are doing this systematically and in accordance with all procedures.We do not substitute the law for our desires, but we are implementing the strategic task in a legal way,” he said.
According to him, the confiscated assets will be converted into cash, which will be directed to the defense and restoration of Ukraine.
He also added that the next step should be the confiscation of Russian assets in the West to restore Ukraine.
“Both the government and the Office of the President are working on this with teams of the best lawyers and with teams of our international experts, partners and allies,” he said.
