You can report the circumstances of the disappearance of a person through an online form.
The Security Service of Ukraine has launched an online service to search for prisoners of war and missing in action during the war.
This is stated in message in the Telegram channel of the SBU.
It is noted that the Joint Center for the Search and Release of Prisoners has introduced a quick form for filing statements about missing Ukrainians in the war, as well as those who were captured by the invaders.
So, from now on it is possible to report the circumstances of the disappearance of a person through an online form. It is noted that those citizens who applied to the Joint Center earlier do not need to re-fill out the electronic form – the information provided has already been processed. In addition, it is noted that the data sent through the form is confidential and will not get to unauthorized persons.
“Please note that the issue of releasing prisoners is within the exclusive competence of state authorities! Therefore, the Security Service of Ukraine warns against fraudulent schemes when unknown persons can call and offer “help” in allegedly releasing relatives from captivity,” the message emphasizes.
The SBU urged not to provide information about prisoners and their own personal data to authorized organizations and individuals, as well as anonymous sources.
“This can harm our defenders in captivity and complicate the course of the negotiation process for their release!” the Service explained.
The SBU also recalled that, based on the results of joint activities and the implementation of decisions of the coordinating headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war, the Joint Center released 573 people from captivity and returned to the territory controlled by the government of Ukraine.
Earlier, UNIAN already reported that unknown people began to collect information about Ukrainian prisoners after the terrorist attack in Yelenovka.
