According to the deputy of the Izyum City Council, the Russian invaders from military failures in the Izyum direction take out all their anger on the civilians of the temporarily occupied city.
About 10 thousand residents of the occupied Izyum, Kharkiv region, want to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine.
This was announced by the deputy of the Izyum City Council Maxim Strelnik on the air of the informational telethon on August 10.
“According to our data, about 10,000 civilians are expected to be evacuated, because the winter season is already approaching, and the situation with heat supply is catastrophic,” Strelnik said.
He added that now it is very difficult to leave the occupied Izyum for the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, but it is possible thanks to the joint efforts of volunteers, Ukrainian government authorities and representatives of international organizations.
“I can’t talk about the details of such evacuations for security reasons, because thousands more people want to use this route, but, unfortunately, only a few manage to do it. People leave, first of all, children under 14 years old, women, people over 61 year,” Strelnik explained.
The deputy of the Izyum City Council noted that the Russian invaders, from military failures in the Izyum direction, take out all their anger on the civilians of the temporarily occupied city.
“The situation in Izyum is difficult, the Russian invaders continue to commit war crimes and provocations, shelling private houses in the city and trying to blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine for this. Although everyone sees the video and photos from the places where such shelling takes place, they see the flight path of these shells and understand that this is a deliberate provocation by the Russian invaders against the civilian population in order to discredit the government of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Strelnik stressed.
He noted that now the Ukrainian army is inflicting counterattacks on the enemy and liberating some settlements in the Izyum region. “From desperation, the occupiers are trying to throw out all their anger on the local population. are waiting for the liberation of the city by the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Strelnyk stressed.
He added that the humanitarian situation in the occupied city remains difficult, but now people are working in their own gardens and thus trying to stock up on provisions. However, the residents are critically short of medicines, because the occupiers have destroyed all medical institutions and looted all pharmacies. “Because of the lack of medicines, even because of banal diseases, people suffer greatly and sometimes, when they cannot receive medical care on time, unfortunately, there are fatal consequences,” the deputy of the Izyum City Council emphasized.
As UNIAN reported. On August 4, the head of the Izyum ROA Stepan Maselsky said that now there are two ways to leave the occupied Izyum district of the Kharkiv region. The first one is through Russia, the Baltic countries, Poland and back to Ukraine. And there is one corridor that works once a week. Children under 14, women and men over 60 can exit through it. He also noted that the city of Izyum is currently without gas and there is no talk of a heating season.
On August 5, the chairman of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Sinyegubov, reported that the Ukrainian military liberated two settlements in the Izyum direction and took advantageous positions that still allow moving forward. According to him, the invaders were driven back from Dmitrovka and Dibrovnoye, in addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a large number of enemy infantry and armored vehicles, and also occupied and fortified advantageous positions that allow them to move forward.
