Yesterday’s showers, thunderstorms and heavy gusts of wind led to a complete blackout in the region of 125 settlements and 189 partial ones.
In the Kyiv region, 121 settlements were de-energized due to bad weather.

It is noted that on September 18 in the region due to showers, thunderstorms and squally gusts of wind up to 20 m / s, 125 settlements were completely de-energized and 189 – partially. 150 transmission lines and 2,612 transformer substations were damaged.
Boguslavsky, Boryspilsky, Vasilkovsky and Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky energy centers suffered the most because of bad weather.
As of 08:30 on September 19, electricians have already managed to return the light for more than 60 thousand families in 72 settlements, which were completely de-energized and in 121 – partially.
53 settlements remain completely de-energized and 68 – partially. Due to thunderstorms and gusts of wind, 40 power lines were de-energized completely and 27 – partially, 809 transformer substations.
Power engineers continue to work in an enhanced mode in order to return the light as quickly as possible.
Bad weather in Ukraine
As Pogoda UNIAN reported, bad weather swept across Ukraine yesterday. In particular, due to the worsening weather in the Sumy region, one person died, eight more were injured. In the city of Buryn, dozens of private houses were left without a roof, in several – destroyed walls. Gas stations and a number of non-residential premises and cars were damaged, a power line was damaged. The electrical substation was struck by lightning.
Khmelnytsky region also suffered from bad weather. There, as a result of worsened weather conditions, trees were knocked down, which fell on the carriageway, sidewalks, cut off power lines, and in some places fell on cars and houses.
Meanwhile, as Pogoda UNIAN reported, a storm warning has been announced for almost all of Ukraine today. According to Ukrgidromettsentr, on September 19 in Ukraine, except for the south, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected. Danger level I declared, yellow.
