This decision was supported by 255 deputies.
The Verkhovna Rada today at a meeting supported in the second reading and in general the bill 7668-d, which provides for the return of excise taxes on fuel.
As stated in his Telegram First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 255 deputies voted for the relevant decision, with the required minimum of 226 votes.
“The Rada returned the excise tax on fuel. The corresponding bill No. 7668-d was supported in general,” Zheleznyak said.
According to the text of the document, excise taxes are returned in the amount of: gasoline – 100 euros per 1000 liters; diesel – 100 euros per 1000 liters; biofuel – 100 euros per 1000 liters; gas – 52 euros per 1000 liters. At the same time, VAT remains at the level of 7%.
At the same time, a privilege was made for fuel for the needs of the Ministry of Defense. For the military, the excise will be 0 euros per 1000 liters. This benefit will be valid exclusively for the Ministry of Defense for the period of martial law and state of emergency.
“The law comes into force one day after its publication, so the return of excises should be expected at the end of September. All these benefits are valid until the end of martial law, but no later than July 1, 2023,” Zheleznyak said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in March the Parliament abolished the tax excise on fuel and reduced the VAT to 7% from 20%. This has helped consumers and businesses in the most shocking times to buy fuel at an affordable price.
On August 30, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading draft law No. 7668-d “On Amendments to Section XX “Transitional Provisions” of the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding excise tax rates for the period of the legal regime of martial law, state of emergency”, which provides for the return of excise duty on fuel.
On September 14, the profile committee of the parliament supported this bill for consideration in the second reading.
