The international community has condemned the intentions of the Russian occupiers to hold pseudo-referendums.
Due to the low turnout at the “voting stations” of the so-called “referendum”, signatures are collected from local residents at home, accompanied by armed Russian occupiers.
This is stated in the message on the page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Facebook.
The General Staff recalled that the occupation authorities are holding so-called “referendums” on the temporarily occupied and occupied territory of Ukraine.
“Due to the low percentage of visits to the” polling stations “, employees of the “election commissions”, accompanied by armed servicemen of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, are collecting signatures of local residents directly in their places of residence,” the report says.
Russia staged “referendums” in the occupied territories of Ukraine: what is known
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Russians decided to hold pseudo-referendums in the captured parts of Kherson, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Lugansk regions from September 23 to 27 in order to join the Russian Federation.
The international community condemned the intentions of the Russian occupiers. In particular, the countries of the G7 and the European Union announced that they would impose sanctions against the Russian Federation for organizing pseudo-referendums on the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
On September 23, the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai, said that a “vote” had already begun in the region: Russians with weapons were threatening to break down the doors to those who would not open them.
The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, also said that in the occupied city armed Russian invaders “prompt” frightened people in which place of the ballot it is “correct” to put a mark.
