The United States will respond harshly to the destruction by Russia of the American reconnaissance drone MQ-9 Reaper in international airspace over the Black Sea.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov expressed confidence in this, noting that there would be a “response” from the United States, and a very serious one:

The “response” of the United States will be, and very serious, very tough. Russia will regret more than once that they shot down or contributed to the drone falling and crashing.”

According to Zhdanov, the atypical activity of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea is due to the fact that the Russians are “trying to catch or pick up some fragments of an American drone that they shot down.”

“The depth is somewhere between 1.5-1.8 thousand meters. It did not fall into the deepest place. Today, only special deep-sea submersibles can descend to such a depth. Russia has such ones. There is such a Losharik, which, by the way, was engaged in sabotage activities in the Baltic Sea, was seen there. One of these ships was on fire, according to some reports. While not officially confirmed by the Russian Federation, 14 senior officers of the Russian naval forces died on it. But transporting it by land is time, and overtaking together with the parent submarine “Belgorod”, which produces them, today it is not possible, Turkey will not let it in. I doubt that Russia will have any opportunity to raise the wreckage from such a depth, but they can try, “the expert noted.
