MiG-29 fighters: Zhdanov revealed the details of the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine

Before the start of the counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have aviation, military expert Oleg Zhdanov is sure: “Either an alternative one in the form of the MiG-29, or maybe the F-16 will also do.”

“Polish officials say that they have obtained permission, and the first MiG-29 aircraft will be transferred to Ukraine, there will be 10 in total. They will be enlisted and will take part in hostilities. The remaining 8 aircraft will be transferred over the coming weeks,” – said Zhdanov.

According to him, Poland still achieved, and Ukraine will definitely receive 10 aircraft.

“Now we are still waiting for the decision of the Slovak government, there are all prerequisites that Slovakia will make a positive decision, and we will receive 12 more aircraft from them. And that will be almost two squadrons (22-24 MiG-29),” the expert said.

According to Zhdanov, these aircraft have been modernized and adapted to NATO weapons: “Then the question is immediately removed – what to attach Western-style missiles to (HARM, Storm Shadow, GLSDB missiles).

Recall that Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commented on the information that Ukraine could receive MiG-29 multipurpose fighter jets from several other partner states except Poland: “It is clear that not everything can be said. Such things are not public, so I want to see that in the near future everything will be even better and even more.”

Before that, it became known that Poland would transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in the coming days, Polish President Andrzej Duda said.
