The dollar exchange rate in Ukraine until the end of 2023: different forecasts were made about what will happen to the currency

According to the most optimistic forecast, the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine by the end of 2023 will be in the range of UAH 38-39/USD.

This forecast was made by the managing partner of the Bureau of Investment Programs (BIP), economist Oleksandr Bondarenko, noting that, according to a realistic forecast, the value of the dollar will fluctuate between 39-40 UAH / USD, and according to a pessimistic one – 41-42.5 UAH / USD .

“Still, there are risks, military ones. It is possible that international assistance will come at the wrong time, and the hryvnia will have to be printed, although the NBU promised not to print it,” the expert noted. “We are counting on the best, but preparing for the worst.”

At the same time, he also named the factors that will influence the course in one way or another throughout the year: stable provision of financial assistance; a sufficient amount of gold and foreign exchange reserves of Ukraine, as well as the restoration of exports.

As UNIAN wrote, on March 17, the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar in the bank exchange offices in Kyiv weakened by 4 kopecks – to UAH 38.79/USD. The hryvnia exchange rate did not change against the euro and amounted to UAH 41.10 / euro.

And the exchange rate of the cash dollar in PrivatBank went up by 3 kopecks – up to UAH 38.55 per dollar. The euro exchange rate against the hryvnia fell by 15 kopecks – to UAH 40.80 / euro.
