Russians in Zaporozhye detain local residents without Russian passports – General Staff
The Russian invaders have strengthened the counterintelligence regime in this settlement of the Zaporozhye region.

In the temporarily occupied village of Azovskoe, Zaporozhye region, the Russian invaders have strengthened the counterintelligence regime and are checking the local population for the presence of a Russian passport.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary as of 18:00. People who do not have a Russian passport are forced to put up with additional checks that are accompanied by detention.
“Russian occupiers continue to exert psychological pressure on the local population in order to force them to obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation,” the report says.
War in Ukraine – forced passportization
As UNIAN reported earlier, the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that the Russians are intensifying the forced passportization of the population, and by the fall they plan to have 80% of residents in the temporarily occupied territories with Russian passports.
Earlier it became known that in the occupied part of the Zaporozhye region, the invaders refuse to pay salaries to Ukrainians without a Russian passport. The invaders also force people to make payments exclusively through the cards of Russian banks.
