In the Odessa region, they tried to save a man for six hours, who ended up in a narrow well up to 18 meters deep, but he died.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Odessa region. It is noted that today at 16:45 the Rescue Service received a message that in the Odessa region, in the village of Mayaki, a man needs to be taken out of the well.

“When the rescuers arrived at the place of the call, it was found that a citizen born in 1993 was in the well pipe (400 mm in diameter) 15-18 meters deep. Human movement is limited,” the report says.

Rescue work was carried out with the help of four excavators, a front loader and a crane. As reported, with the help of a chainsaw, the road – the entrance to the well – was cleared of bushes and tree branches. With the help of excavators, they dug up a well to save the victim, and with a crane they fixed the concrete wall rings of the well.

The department reports that the work was significantly complicated by the small diameter of the well pipe. “Unfortunately, the injured citizen died. All the details of the incident are being established,” the report says.

In total, 7 pieces of equipment and 24 rescuers were involved from the State Emergency Service of Odessa, 2 excavators, 1 front loader and a crane – from the bulk. Efforts are now underway to recover the body of the dead man.
