In the months-long battle for the city of Bakhmut, Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group lose significant strength and run out of steam.

This was announced by the commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky in Telegram. “The aggressor leaves no hope of taking Bakhmut at any cost, despite losses in either manpower or equipment,” Syrsky said.

“The main forces of the Russian Federation in this direction are representatives of the Wagner private military campaign. Sparing nothing, they lose significant strength and run out of steam. Very soon we will take advantage of this opportunity, as we once did near Kiev, Kharkov, Balakleya and Kupyansk,” – said the commander of the Ground Forces.

He stated that under the continuous fire of artillery and enemy aircraft, Ukrainian soldiers at the front demonstrate superhuman stamina, courage and bravery.

The situation in Bakhmut

Heavy fighting in Bakhmut has been going on for several months. The Ukrainian military courageously defend the fortress city despite the fact that the occupiers are bombarding them with mountains of cannon fodder.

Some time ago, at Zelensky’s headquarters, it was decided that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would continue to hold the city.

On March 21, Syrsky noted that the Russian invaders were trying to move towards the center of the city of Bakhmut from its outskirts, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces were holding back the advance of the enemy.
