VAKS found the deputy guilty of false declaration, but released from punishment

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court found MP Anna Kolesnik, elected to parliament from the Servant of the People, guilty of false declaration, but released from punishment after the statute of limitations expired.

As the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported, the VAKS announced a verdict by which the current people’s deputy was found guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional declaration of false information).

“According to the court’s verdict, the people’s deputy was sentenced to a fine in the amount of UAH 44.2 thousand, with the deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the exercise of the function of a representative of power in public authorities for a period of 1 year,” the report says.

At the same time, on the basis of paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Art. 49, part 5 of Art. 74 of the Criminal Code, the court released the person from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

It is also said that the SAP prosecutor proved in court that the deputy deliberately did not indicate in the declaration for 2020 two apartments in the capital with a total value of more than UAH 3.5 million and a car that she used, as well as non-residential property belonging to her premises in Kharkov. In general, the people’s deputy did not declare movable and immovable property for a total amount of more than UAH 4.4 million, which is more than 500 times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons, which violated the requirements of paragraphs. 2, 3 h. 1 tbsp. 46 of the Law “On the Prevention of Corruption”.
