Due to the negligence of the military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 89 tons of aviation fuel

UAH 6.5 million worth of strategic fuel leaked from the tanks through leaky valves.

Law enforcers reported suspicion to a serviceman, due to whose negligence the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 89 tons of aviation fuel. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the investigation, in August 2022, a serviceman, whose duties included ensuring the storage of fuel and lubricants of one of the military units, did not check for density the tank where aviation fuel for gas turbine engines was shipped.

As a result, almost 89 tons of liquid worth UAH 6.5 million leaked out of the tanks through leaking valves.

The serviceman was informed about the suspicion of negligent attitude to military service, which entailed grave consequences, committed under martial law (part 4 of article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of up to 8 years in prison.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation detained an official of the Ministry of Defense who sent conscripts abroad for bribes. For his “services” he took 9 thousand dollars, and prepared the conclusion of the military hospital commission on unsuitability for military service.

Also, the State Bureau of Investigation in the Odessa region detained the deputy commander of a military unit, who demanded UAH 120,000 from a subordinate for signing documents for transfer to another military unit.
