The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Melnyk from the post of director of BEB: who will replace him
Vadym Melnyk has headed the Economic Security Bureau since August 2021.

The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Vadim Melnyk from the post of director of the Economic Security Bureau. This was announced by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.
“Vadim Ivanovich Melnyk has been dismissed from the post of director of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine,” he said.
In turn, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that Melnyk was dismissed allegedly of his own free will.
“Even in the morning, Melnik did not know that he would have a desire to quit. Even two hours ago, BEB published the news that he met with the business association,” he wrote.
According to Zheleznyak, the first deputy head of the department, Eduard Fedorov, will act as head of the BEB for the time being.
“From 2021 to 2022, Fedorov was the deputy head of the Kiev customs department of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the acting head of the Kiev customs department. From 2022 to 2023, he was the head of the SBU department in the Sumy region,” the people’s deputy added.
Bureau of Economic Security – what is known
The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine is the central body of executive power, which is entrusted with the task of countering offenses that encroach on the functioning of the state economy.
As UNIAN reported, Vadim Melnik has served as director of the BEB since August 2021.
The Economic Security Bureau should take measures to prevent, detect, suppress, investigate and solve crimes in the field of formation and use of the financial resources of the state. It was created by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada in January 2021.
