President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that several very important issues were raised during a telephone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. He noted that official Beijing assured that it would not supply weapons to the Russian Federation.
“I am grateful for the answer to my question that we expect that China will not be a supplier of weapons to the Russian Federation and will not support Russia, which is waging war against Ukraine, with weapons and other technologies,” Zelensky said during a meeting with Italian media representatives.
According to him, in response, Xi Jinping said that weapons would not be supplied to Russia.
“The leader of China assured me that they would stand aside from this process and would not support Russia with weapons,” the President of Ukraine said.

On April 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke on the phone with Chinese leader Xi Jinping for the first time since the start of a full-scale Russian invasion.
Zelensky said that during the conversation, in particular, they discussed issues of nuclear security and the blocking of the Black Sea by Russia and the export of Ukrainian grain.
Zelensky called on the Chinese leader to join in the return of Ukrainian children whom Russia illegally took to its territory.
