A section of the railway was repaired in Hungary: how trains from Ukraine will now travel
Non-transfer cars Kyiv – Budapest – Vienna are returning to their usual timetables.

In Hungary, the movement of the previously damaged railway between Debrecen and Nyiregyhaza was resumed. That is why direct carriages Kyiv-Budapest-Vienna are returning to their usual schedules.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the movement of wagons will take place according to the following schedule:
- departure from Kyiv at 13:16, Lviv 19:59 – 20:25, Mukachevo 00:19 – 00:24, Budapest-Keleti 08:20 – 08:40, arrival in Vienna at 11:21.
- In the opposite direction, departure from Vienna at 16:42, Budapest-Keleti 19:19 – 19:40, Mukachevo 06:48 – 06:53, Lviv 11:00 – 11:23, arrival in Kyiv at 18:30.
Also, the train EC 140/149 “Hortobágy” Vienna – Zahony with the Vienna – Chop carriage is returning to the usual schedule, with all transfers preserved. Departure from Vienna – at 16:42, Budapest-Keleti 19:19 – 19:40, arrival in Chop at 02:28.
Return departure from Chop at 03:28, Budapest-Keleti 08:20 – 08:40, arrival in Vienna at 11:21.
Trains on the Budapest-Debrecen-Mukachevo route follow the usual schedule and route without the need to change to a bus shuttle to bypass the damaged section.
Rail connection with the EU
As UNIAN reported, on April 24, Ukrzaliznytsia launched a new direct carriage of the international traffic Vienna-Chop-Vienna. Tickets cost UAH 1,730 and can be purchased both at the box office and online.
On May 8, in connection with the derailment of a freight train in Hungary, direct carriages Vienna-Kyiv were expected to be delayed by 6 hours. Then it was reported that 9 wagons of the Hungarian 35-car freight train with iron ore derailed.
