Experts noted that earthquakes of similar strength from the territory of the Poltava region were recorded earlier.

On May 26, at about 21:40, an earthquake was registered in Ukraine 20 km west of the city of Poltava.

According to the Main Center for Special Control, it was a magnitude of 3.5 (on the Richter scale) at a depth of 7 km.

“According to the classification, the earthquake is classified as “barely perceptible.” The vibrations are felt only by individuals who are in a calm state indoors, especially on the upper floors,” they said.

Experts noted that earthquakes of similar strength from the territory of the Poltava region were recorded earlier, in particular, the last of them on January 14, 2023 with a magnitude of 2.7 and on October 03, 2022 with a magnitude of 3.4.

Earthquakes in Ukraine – latest cases

On Thursday, April 27, an earthquake occurred in Ukraine, which could be felt. As noted, the earthquake was registered 7 kilometers west of the city of Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Its magnitude was 2.2 on the Richter scale.
