The club of the Ukrainian in the Premier League congratulated the Russian ex-football player on his birthday, but then deleted the post
Such a move from Arsenal has attracted a lot of criticism.

London “Arsenal”, for which the player of the national team of Ukraine Oleksandr Zinchenko plays, published a post on his official Twitter page in which he congratulated his former Russian football player Andrei Arshavin on his birthday.
The club posted an old-school video of the ex-midfielder playing poker against Liverpool and captioned the post “Have a great day, Andrey.”
The Gunners immediately received a portion of criticism. Especially active were the Lviv “Karpaty”, which answered the Londoners as follows:
“May 28: The Russian army launched a missile attack on the Zhytomyr region, where Oleksandr Zinchenko was born. May 29: Arsenal congratulates Russian player Andrey Arshavin. How should Zinchenko and all Ukrainians, Arsenal, feel about this?” Twitter.
A few hours after the publication, the Gunners nevertheless deleted the post with a greeting. The previous link is no longer available.
The Russian national team reacted to such a step. Muscovites published in their Twitter screenshot of the Arsenal post and tagged the club’s page.
“You can delete a record, but you can’t erase your history,” the Russians added in the message.
After that, “Karpaty” again intervened in the dispute. IN Twitter Lvivians trolled the Russian team on the “census of history”.
“How ironic to hear this from a country that constantly invents and rewrites history. We remind you that you only had swamps when Kievan Rus already existed,” the Ukrainian club said.
Recall that Arshavin played for Arsenal in 2009-2012. Perhaps his only achievement in the Gunners are just those four goals scored against Liverpool.
Zinchenko spends his first season with the Gunners. He joined the Londoners last summer. Arsenal have paid €35m for the Manchester City player. In this draw of the Premier League, the Ukrainian played 27 matches, in which he scored one goal and two assists. As a result, Arsenal finished second in the championship.
